The primary goal of a medical assistant is to provide the
patient with competent health care. To accomplish this she/he
becomes part of the medical health care team, working
side-by-side with physicians and technicians, using her/his
skills to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. A
graduate of our program is able to seek employment as a medical
assistant in an entry-level position in a medical office, health
clinic, hospital, medical lab, pharmaceutical company, medical
supply house or insurance company.

The Medical Assisting program provides you with the skills
necessary to be responsible for a range of front office and back
office functions. Coursework includes many opportunities for
hands-on training, including 160 hours spent on an externship,
where you will work in a medical facility doing administrative
and patient contact tasks required of the job.

and discharge summaries. Students practice medical machine
transcription and processing claims by hand and electronically.
